If you like your rock heavy then Oxford-based, masked hard rockers, Field of Giants have the very thing for you, with the release of their second independent album In Arcadia dropping in June. After a string of local shows to test their new material, Field of Giants are well prepared for the release of their follow-up on the music buying public. In Arcadia is ready to hit the ground running and the band; described as, 'the love child of Tool and Incubus', are delighted to be bringing it to you after putting the finishing touches to this musical behemoth. It's the follow-up to their independently released debut album We Are and In Arcadia promises to build upon Field of Giants’ distinctive sound of self-proclaimed “Dense atmospheric, hard hitting rock!”. The impressive 56-minute run-time is a testament to the band’s continued exploration into their, now characteristic, cinematic sound; layering heavy guitars, high impact drums, and soaring vocals to create an expansive sonic experience. “But don’t take our word for it” says Field Of Giants, encouraging listeners to redefine what they expect from a modern hard rock album.
Last month, along with two new live sessions at Studio Focus Recordings, Field of Giants released their first video for the upcoming album. The official music video for the track White Water was released on the band’s YouTube and Facebook pages, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect in June. Favourite video this week is Oceans by Little Brother Eli. Little Brother Eli combine the blues with hip hop rhythms to give you ‘the feeling that every single second has been filled with crafted perfection’ (Right Chord Music), but even this kind of juxtapositional statement doesn’t quite cover it. With a sound that brings Jack White or the Black Keys to mind, Little Brother Eli take powerful vocals, growling guitars and gritty solos to create their own twist on bluesy garage rock.
Little Brother Eli was formed in Oxford during early 2013 by bassist Josh Rigal and vocalist Alex Grew. The pair were joined by guitarist Adam Stowe and drummer Benji Page who began sharing their eclectic mix of musical influences along with lap steel specialist Tom Williams.
