Ring Ring Rouge
A lot can happen in 18 months and that's certainly the case with Burnley band Ring Ring Rouge who Ralph first checked out back in October of 2012 when they released their debut single 'Today'. April of 2014 sees the release of Ring Ring Rouge’s debut album ‘Head Full of Fog’ which was recorded in London with Michael Page and was released on April 28th supported by a tour of the North West and Yorkshire.
Ring Ring Rouge are Michael Connell, Clive Durkin, Gary Starr, Shaun Starr and are currently signed to Jack to Phono Records.
The eleven track album reflects the lighter side of the bands Alt/Indie pedigree well with lead track 'In The Morning' and its gentle harmonies leading in to the slightly heavier but poppier 'Never Leave Home' whilst pleasant melodies abound on 'Lost And Found'.
However, as the album progresses with 'Today' and throughout the remaining seven tracks you can't but help feeling they need to explore their darker side as, whilst I'd recommend it as excellent lazy day, summer listening it's never going to blow your mind with a stand-out track. It's that comfy sweater your Mum likes you to wear, not the 'Never Mind The Bollocks' T Shirt you hide from her. That being said you can't fault their song writing ability or musicality which shine throughout.
Remaining dates on the tour are...
8th May- Jackalope, Manchester
9th May- Puzzle Hall, Sowerby Bridge
15th May- Bare Arts, Todmorden (Acoustic Set)
5th June – Zephyr, Huddersfield
14th June- The Woodman, Burnley
