Stuart Adamson Fans Website
Ahoy all Stuart Adamson, Big Country and Skids Fans, if you haven't been there already here's a website that's well worth a visit with loads of great info pics and downloads.
Gwenda Matthews who runs the site is also writing a biography of Stuart's life called 'Restless Native' and if the excerpts from the first chapter are anything to go by it will be a riveting read for Stuart's fans in particular and music fans in general.
Having known Stuart my old man misses him and his music (The Skids are never off his jukebox) and it's due to that influence that this Blog came about with a view to promoting the Fife Music Scene with it's wealth of new talent. Modern Faces being a classic example. Check them out on YouTube first chance you get.
In the meantime I'm sticking on a bit of Holy Pistol Club (OK OK I know they're from Dumbarton but hopefully they'll be joining the Blue Brazil in the 1st Division next season so we'll let them off) an' gettin' down wit' ma bad self. Later dudes.

So here's my choice in the SMIA Scottish Album of the Year Awards, and the great news is it's been shortlisted!
If you're in the mood for some mellow music then waste no time and buy it, but in the meantime go have a free listen to 'Bats in the Attic' on the Scottish Album of the year award website. Feel free to let me know what you think and 'hey, lets be chillin' out there'.

Diamond Mine took seven years to complete, and even then there was no real deadline to meet, no budget to work within, and absolutely no pressure to deliver anything other than a soundtrack to a romanticised version of a life lived in a scottish coastal village. They scoured the KC catalogue to find the songs that best suited their physical origins, the ones that weighed enough to anchor a sound in the East Neuk of Fife, the ones that had aged so well that they hadn’t aged in the slightest and for once, they recorded the voice well clear of winter colds, summer hay fever, spring tour strain and autumn festival fatigue.

Ok, ok I know this should be about new bands, but whod'da thort it.....Halfords using the Skids 'Into the Valley' for a TV ad!
The great thing is that it sounds current, it sounds fresh, it sounds like they should release it again and go on tour!
Me old dad was actually at the above gig back in the day and he says he nearly came in his pants when he saw the advert. Eeeeeeeeew!!

I'd pay a Silver Dollar for this track!
Sooooo more Sub Couple lissenin' in the form of Silver Dollar. Very late Sixties early Seventies vibe to this one which suits me right down to the proverbial ground. Bit Zep-like which is no bad thing also!
Looked for a bit of info on them via Google but when you put in Sub Couple all you get is people wanting you to come round their house for an evening, if you know what I mean nudge nudge wink wink, say no more!
However I think I may have an insider info wise thanks to Millie the Jack Russell so I'll see what we can find out about upcoming gigs and new material for your further delictation. In the meantime visit them on Myspace in order to give them a poke in your direction!
