Graham Marshall - Freedom Call

Freedom Call cover art
Graham Marshall has been a singer/songwriter for over 15 years; success always eluding him. Three and a half years ago, he took matters into his own hands when he self-financed his first EP, a collection of five acoustic guitar driven songs he appropriately titled, 'Ten Years Stuck in Traffic'. Without much fanfare, Graham took to the road, something he knew a little about, to celebrate his self-released collection of music performing his way from John O'Groats to Land's End, busking his way through 18 cities in just 7 days.

Now after having just performed with Linda Perhacs in a 500 seat sell out show in London, Graham has released a new single 'Freedom Call' to no little critical acclaim.  The amazing thing is it's an 'online' collaboration between himself and Jensen Brite

Recorded on a Boss Micro BR hand held 4 track recorder in Graham's bedroom using whatever was at hand for percussion (a tub of lentils, his kids tambourine and the dining room chair) with organ and bass added by Jensen from an airing cupboard 200 odd miles away! It's Indie music at its most extreme and a great way for musicians to share their talent and yet not leave the comfort of their own home!

The result is 'Freedom Call' a track which he has also donated to the Ralph's Life CD for the charity Rethink Mental Illness.  It's a gritty, wistful, reflective yet uplifting track exploiting Graham's acoustic alt/folk style to its best. Graham's well crafted lyrics being benefiting from the simple yet effective musicality and his husky vocal.

You can download the track from his Bandcamp and for the rest of December Graham is donating the proceeds to the Ralph's Life CD Crowd Funder Project! He's also donated £200 of his own hard earned cash towards this worthy cause.
