Bad Llama

We played the last Bad Llama single Apocrypha on the Radio KC Indie Show in November of last year to much critical comment, so it's no surprise we bring you news of their latest single Crooked Empire as a precursor to the imminent release of their EP of the same name.

The single will be getting a pre-release spin on The Indie Show of 18.2.18 so remember to tune in from 5-7pm.

Bad Llama are an alternative rock/metal band formed in 2016 based in Burton Upon Trent. They are both aggressive and melodic in their approach to song writing finding a unique balance in within their sound.

Bad Llama blend a mixture of 90s rock/metal with modern industrial and progressive sounds. Their music delivers powerful choruses, emotive vocals, funky basslines, diverse beats and melodic guitars.

On the song, the band say...

"Crooked Empire explores the atrocities caused by possession and deception. The lyrics delve into how a person can prey on an individuals vulnerability, manipulating them into doing whatever they say for their own sadistic desires. Crooked Empire embodies the aftermath caused by a self appointed individual who uses their false authority to brainwash an easily influenced group of people".

Now after performing at numerous venues including O2 Academy 3 in Birmingham, Rock City in Nottingham, The Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton and being shortlisted for Ynot Festival 2017, they are set to carry on growing across the UK.

With the release of quality tracks like Apocrypha and the even more addictive Crooked Empire as well as an increasingly impressive live pedigree, that's highly achievable.

Bad Llama

Bad Llama are an alternative rock/metal band formed in 2016 based in Burton Upon Trent.

They are both aggressive and melodic in their approach to song writing finding a unique balance in within their sound.

Bad Llama blend a mixture of 90s rock/metal with modern industrial and progressive sounds. Their music delivers powerful choruses, emotive vocals, funky bass-lines, diverse beats and melodic guitars, with most songs building to an explosive climax.

Influences range from bands such as Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Tool, Faith No More, Rage Against The Machine and Bring Me The Horizon.

Bad Llama released their debut EP Shedding Skin in September 2016, with its leading single The Wolf You Feed being aired on Kerrang! Radio several times.

The band were also played on BBC Introducing East Midlands and many other stations across the world. The band also made a TV appearance as part of Johnny Doom’s show ‘Amp’d’ on Birmingham TV in November 2016.

Children Of The Korn?

Bad Llama are now set to release their brand new single Apocrypha on November 10th, which will be the first track of their upcoming EP Crooked Empire.

Needless to say Ralph is giving it a spin on the Radio KC Indie Show so remember to tune in on Sunday November 12th from 5-7pm GMT.

Broken Jaw

Based in Gloucestershire, England, Broken Jaw first came together in mid-2012 when members Nutzie Shelley and Lee Stockwell met at a friend’s house party.

They quickly decided to combine talents and wrote the band’s first four tracks in their bassist’s work warehouse.

After gigging up and down the country for the last 4 years, headlining at many a well-known venue and supporting some established acts, Broken Jaw gained a big reputation for being a “rowdy party band” with the tag line’s “Too Punk to be Metal and too Metal to be Punk” and “Welcome to the #BJParty”.

This has seen Broken Jaw accumulate a vast and ever growing loyal fan base; from fans of all types of genres, across the country and even overseas in Ireland, America, Germany and Norway.

The band (now in their 5th year) is currently recording their debut album Hope with a plan to release it later this year.

Constant Ignorance is accompanied by a hard-hitting video to raise awareness for - and help to stop domestic abuse.

Ralph will be spinning Constant Ignorance by Broken Jaw on this Sunday's Indie Show on Radio KC.

Mothers Finest

Given Ralph's love of all things Indie and interest in Crowd Funding projects, his attention was grabbed when he heard legendary US funksters Mother's Finest were eschewing record companies and self-financing their first release in 10 years using Kickstarter, effectively making their fans their record company!

Diamond and Anchor Clothing Company

Now every aspiring rock band needs to have a sharp image and have somewhere to sell their music and merchandise. Well they need look no further than Diamond and Anchor Clothing Company who are an independent clothing label which rose like a phoenix from the flames of Ribcage Clothing.

They aim to provide their customers with clean, interesting and thought provoking designs on each and every one of their garments. By fusing together a love of street and tattoo art, music from indie to hardcore metal and punk, they are trying to create something a bit different. Something accessible for everyone and have some fun in the process. Not only are they selling their own garments that they sell bands music too, available online.

Now as a Jack Russell I'm inquisitive by nature so Ralph had a Q & A with Gary Cairns Diamond And Anchor supremo.....

Ralph: What're your aspirations for the brand?

Gary: "Diamond and Anchor has always been about a long term vision rather than a clothing brand to me. I guess I used the clothing aspect and my love of design/art based projects in order to connect with like minded people, people who share my love for music.

Ralph: How has the growth of Diamond and Anchor taken place?

Gary: There have been a few people who have been instrumental in helping us grow and build a core network of trusted collaborators, such as (as an example..there are more but often remember later)The Recovery!, Crusades, Vukovi, Cold War Legacy Records, Overlook Records, Struggletown Records and many friends and family.

Ralph: And your long term aim?

Gary: The aim is simple, to bring as many people together who might not otherwise do so. Indie labels, bands, clothing, film/video makers. We will continue to grow this year on the clothing front as a lot of the production will be coming in-house, allowing for the release of many more designs and garments than we have been able to do before.

Ralph: Anything else planned?

Gary: On top of this add band merchandise,more indie labels added to our distribution section, tours,potential records releases, live shows, an unsigned festival, a youtube channel with live shows and a few things that need to be kept secret right now and 2013 is shaping up to be a MONSTER!!

I hope there is both the time AND energy to fit it all in. Lets crack on and do it!
