Fist track up 'The Call' has shades of The Moody Blues around the time of 'A Question Of Balance'. It's a stirring, uplifting track as it builds to a poignant end and a strong start to the EP with its call to arms.
'It's Spirit' is more folky in a Nick Drake style - a theme that continues for me throughout and proof positive of Adam's strong songwriting ability.

'Song Of The Middle Land' whilst short, is for me the strongest track on the EP with it's wistful message of times past. Final track 'Sierra Nevada' again harks back to the feel of early 70's folk influenced bands like Wishbone Ash with classically influenced guitar and lilting lyrics.
To quote Andy regarding the EP - "For the sake of all things holy and unholy we've worked really bloody hard to get this EP finished and 'out there'. These are hard times, both musically and economically, so all we ask is that you tell others about what Under A Banner are doing; it's a dark and treacherous path to the foothills, let alone the summit..."
